Discusses one of the most common mistakes I see with myotomal testing with most PT’s employing a full all out max using your body weight-to-break them effort. It might give you slight ego boost by feeling strong but doesn’t tell us a whole lot. This is especially true during myotomal testing and one of the most important times to apply this technique. Myotomal testing should be ECCENTRIC and testing nerve summation properties. That means starting with light pressure and gradually increasing to test that specific nerves quality of firing and/or inhibition.
